Six Things to Check Before Coming to Korea for Aesthetic Treatment
Questions worth asking before you compare price lists

"I want to have it done in Korea, but I don't know how to choose a clinic."
This is the question we receive most. There are hundreds of clinic names and no obvious basis for comparison. So here is what we actually check with patients in the consultation room. This is not an argument for choosing us — whichever clinic you choose, these six are worth confirming.
1. How long has it operated in the same place?
Some clinics change their sign often. When the name or the address changes, past treatment records tend to disappear with it.
Running in one place for a long time means the clinic has kept facing the same neighbourhood. It also means that if something goes wrong, the place you need to go back to is still there.
ReYeonK is in its tenth year at the same address in Apgujeong Rodeo.
2. Can you find out in advance who will be treating you?
When you book, ask directly: can you confirm beforehand which director will perform the treatment, and is that doctor a permanent member of the clinic?
Aesthetic treatment is not a one-off. Where and how much was placed last time, how your skin responded — results accumulate only when the person who knows that carries on. That is why it matters whether the same director can pick up where they left off on your next visit.
At ReYeonK the directors are resident, and you can specify which one you would like when you book. We also record the number of tips used and the settings applied on the day, for the same reason — it becomes the reference point for the next treatment.
3. Does a director run the consultation themselves?
In some places a manager runs the consultation and the doctor only performs the procedure. What you agreed in consultation may then not reach the treatment table intact.
At ReYeonK the sequence is photographs → consultation with the director → consultation with the manager → procedure by the director. The first person to look at your face is the director, and that same director treats you. The manager's consultation settles schedule and cost; it does not replace the design decision.
4. Can you see for yourself that the device is genuine?
With devices such as Thermage FLX and Ultherapy, whether the consumable tip is genuine and whether the shot count matches what was stated determines the result.
The check is simple: ask them to open the tip packaging in front of you before treatment. The authenticity label and the remaining shot count appear on the device screen. The same applies to botulinum toxin — see whether the vial is opened in front of you. A clinic that refuses has given you a reason to reconsider.
5. Can you communicate during the procedure?
In some places the interpreter is present only for the consultation, not in the treatment room. During lifting or injection procedures, being able to say "this hurts" or "that's enough here" changes the outcome.
Confirm in advance how far the interpreter stays with you.
6. Is there somewhere to ask after you fly home?
This is the one most often skipped. Immediately after treatment it is hard to judge whether swelling is normal, and most questions arise after you get home.
Check whether you can still send a photograph and ask.
In short
All six are things a single question before treatment will answer. Ask these six before comparing price lists and the shortlist narrows on its own.
Suitability, results and duration vary with skin condition and treatment area, and differ from person to person. Please decide on treatment only after consulting a physician directly.
