That Man's 'Perfect Six-Pack' — Turns Out It's Cosmetic Surgery?

As summer vacation season arrives in full swing, inquiries about abdominal contouring surgery are on the rise. Abdominal contouring uses liposuction to sculpt a "six-pack" (shaped like the Chinese character 王) or "eleven-line abs," and the number of procedures grows each year, driven by word-of-mouth about its quick body-shaping effects. It is especially popular among busy office workers in their 30s who lack time for extensive exercise.
Abdominal contouring removes unnecessary fat from the abdomen via liposuction, then uses specialized instruments to define the muscle lines in the fat layer and subcutaneous tissue. Men typically seek a six-pack, while women opt for the sleek two-line abdominal look.
Dr. Kim Hyun-soo of ReYeonK explained: "If you've been exercising diligently but still can't achieve defined abs, cosmetic surgery is an option worth considering."
However, he emphasized that abdominal contouring is not a simple procedure. "The eligibility criteria, including the required equipment and physical condition, are strict. For those with severe obesity, weight loss through exercise and diet must come first, before considering surgery."
